PLAN OF INTERVENTION
The International Expertise Center ChildAbduction.COM (IECC) understands that a left-behind parent often lacks the time, resources, and expertise to carry out the crucial “field work” in the country where their child has been taken. That is where the IECC steps in. Our focus is on the tracking, safe, and non-violent recovery of internationally abducted children, returning them to their habitual residence.
The IECC operates in both Hague Convention and non-Hague Convention countries. In some cases, especially in non-Hague Convention countries, starting a judicial procedure may not be the best first step. Recovery through local courts can be extremely slow, and decisions may be influenced by religious, cultural, or other local values, which can reduce the chances of a successful outcome.
Experience shows that acting quickly is often crucial. Recovering a child before they adapt to a new environment can prevent long-term emotional and psychological challenges. At all times, our actions are guided by the child’s best interests, which remain our highest priority.
We accept only cases involving left-behind parents. Our focus is strictly on:
- Child kidnapping
- Child abduction
- Wrongful child removal
- Illegal child retention
Our professional team works exclusively through legal and ethical channels. Depending on the case, this may include:
- Negotiation with the child abductor
- Mediation between parents
- Judicial procedures
- Public Prosecutor involvement
- Migration authorities
- Police cooperation
- Interpol coordination
Important: Any recovery or rescue action — such as the execution of a court decision — is always carried out in cooperation with the Police and/or Interpol.
The IECC also emphasizes aftercare, recognizing that both the child and the left-behind parent often need support once the child has been safely returned.

Important!
We strongly discourage taking matters into your own hands. The measures could be illegal and may delay your child’s return. Attempts to re-abduct your child(ren) violently from any country may:
- Endanger you, your child(ren), and others;
- Prejudice any future judicial efforts you might wish to make in the abducted-to state;
- Even result in arrest and imprisonment for many years of you and your accomplices.
There is no guarantee that the chain of violent abductions would end with the one committed by you. A parent who has violently re-abducted a child may be forced to live in permanent fear, constantly concealing their whereabouts.
If you are contemplating such desperate measures, consider the emotional trauma inflicted on a child who is a victim of violent abduction and violent re-abduction. We discourage such actions not only because they are illegal, but also because of possible psychological harm to the child.
We do not use illegal methods; we intervene in another way. Our method of work is strategically un-orthodox, yet fully legal and safe, with the assistance of our strong global network. Your case needs to be continuously coached, monitored, and pushed forward by our organization.
